Multiplayer has been done, easy. Mmo: requires alot of knowledge but has been done. Its entirely possible, just not for beginners.

Like what unity? Unity bases to the same as gamemaker (except they target different types of games) and unity does more of the work for you than gamemaker (despite gamemaker being called gamemaker).

it's your choice
you could try unity or c++, there are tons of programming languages out there

Never really answered my question :P. C++ and such is really just reinventing the wheel as unity and gamemaker have functions that are done already in the most efficient way possible. C++ being more broad of a language compared to unity and gamemaker targetting such things as games.

yes you can did it through following process
Guide
1) Launch gmws.exe (websocket traffic "translator" with params gmws.exe ip1 port1 ip2 port2, where ip1 port1 - client connects to (example 127.0.0.1 8080) and ip2 port2 - server (for example 39dll) listens at (example 127.0.0.1 8081). Default values (if no params set) - 127.0.0.1 8080 127.0.0.1 8081
2) Launch your server
3) Connect with html5 client to server
