Hey guys! :)
I am working on a new project called
"Pixel Apocolypse" and here's it's possible icon:

The game is mostly having fun destroying zombies, break them into pieces in an unlimited world of awesomeness with different characters, missions and side missions. Also a free roam won't be leaven out.

The game is made with GM Code which i really have to thanks Brennanber for. Thanks! :)
The game will also have awesome physics of ragdolls, using GMPLhysics and something i like to call Swingset, which is being used for swinging your held items with your mouse.

[NOTICE: New images & a video clip being made. Soon!
The zombie characters will be different eventually and there are even more characters, but i just wanted to show you guys what will it look like mostly. Also the blocks will be updated and levels filled with different objects which you can possibly toss over.

I also have difficult times with running the client..

It will crash like 1/3 times playing the client and swining your axe or shooting with a granade launcher or such. It's really annoying and hopefully i can make it crash less.

If there's anyone who can create awesomesauce pixelated objects, backgrounds or even
can voice act, please let me know. :)

Unfortunetly, because of my PC data loss and lots of flaws i had to quit making it. :)
Oh also i found a way to make the area lag less. Somehow when i covered the whole level with no chance of getting out of the room, it started crashing much less!

I edited your logo for you. I put "PA" letters next to your zombie. Not much for looks a bit better in my opinion

Got an idea that might help. Cache data and compress it for later use, it might help lag.
Edit: I'll be able to make textures, and maybe even voice act.

Me friend wanted to participate in this a little. He knows less c++ than me, but has some sick ideas and
can create some cool textures.

Also if anyone is interested. We're looking for a completely new logo. :)
So far i've applied all the sprites what we need so far and recoil effects for weaponary.
Still working on the sound effects and fixing some gravity & physics bugs.

Next up we're starting to build objects,write a storyline and work on characters.
Hopefully this goes well.

The game cannot be on android or any mobile devices, since the dll's aren't comfortable with Android or iOs devices. Also the control buttons would be insane.

Actually studio master does allow mobile(and some consoles!) and its going on sale for 500$ soon...

(Studio master also contains a compiler powerful enough to create a COD game)

Though the compiler will not be as effective on mobile it will still be a little more powerful. Im still learning ios at the moment so i can try to make at least one game app (and maybe even put it on the appstore though it costs like 100$ a year. And perhaps you can join me :ninja:)

Anyway is pixel apocalypse a survival or a campaign?

Also, let me give you some more info about what's going on in the game:
- Basically you can choose yourself a game mode (Campaign,Free Roam,Survival).
You can also choose a character, (name search in progress). The character is the same with other types of clothing. You have a base with a couple of other surviours, who will come by playing the story. But the problem is, it's often being attacked by zombies and sometimes you have to protect the safehouse. To make it happen less, you can be able to craft things with different items your teammates have found. You just have to be smart and creative enough to match them all together. Almost the same things with weaponary, but these can be found or currently "the axe", which well be turned into something more creative. Also to mention, there will be 5 different swing objects only or so, since it's very powerful. But only 1 can be wearen at a time.

There will be different types of zombies with special abilites, strenghts, weaknesses.
For example, the Quackabot-407. A creepy duckly mechanic moving towards you, destroying everything, which is on it's way. Even teammates. Quackabot-407 doesn't give a darn. He just wants destruction. He can only be destroyed by map triggers and traps.
Weapons are harmless agaist him.
Imagine him coming towards you, almost undestroyable.

These are all REALLY REALLY complicated to make especially for me as a rookie programmer.
Multiplayer would already be too much. The co-op wouldn't really work, since mostly it's controlled by your mouse.

Some of the suggested modes are already in the game inside the modes. The building thing is already in the plan for safehouse.

Dont work... I'm 14, although I am treated like an adult for multiple reasons.... I am a student at the AIE C: Just started... still learning.

The icon is being made by myself. I am still doing that. I've spent like 45 minutes so far to make it look perfect. So far it only looks like this:

Yeah, first i need development license of course. Which i might be having when the game is about to end. My friend promised to help me with that, so the game wouldn't get copied. :)

I decided to make the game over again from the regular zombies, the room and the character due some reasons. It was getting all weird and zombies are kinda buggy.

This may take a while.. :D

Looking nice, GML is a really user friendly language, but really slow and when I was using it I came across loads of issues with the "instances" slowing down the game! However it's easy to master, so if you need any help, I can always pitch in suggestions!

That aside,
If it were me I would cut out the middleman completely and get Xcode, expose some objective C skills, but then again objective C is a horribly difficult language, but super quick! So GML and objective C work against each other in almost every way :/

It's much easier to order things than in Visual Studio C++. :)

Yeah, the lag drives me crazy. That's kinda the reason why i started over again from a point.
Also the zombies wen't nuts. They went inside blocks and then turned. Not in an instant collision.
And i haven't even changed anything in the code. It drove me insane.

Thats because you attached the sprite TO the object and didnt use tiles. Draw the object onto the sprites and it will be faster, (also use tiles, not block objects) and rendering is something you want to use for large maps (over 2300 pixels) also, try to put as many checking varibles onto the player as possible (and not the enimies) to also save framerate.

lagging like hell. It loaded 15 minutes for the game to begin. I think i've found a solution.

Woah, 15 minutes is a lot. At tops it should be around 12 seconds :scratch:. I have no clue what happened there.

Backups? I have almost my entire drive backed up onto http://www.rackspace.com
(I trust them because even they cant access their own servers as they are automatic and encryption plans) i would probably backup your drive next time somewhere,

Though i wouldn't blame your dad too much because they are not growing up with technology like this generation of teens (who would know much more)

For rendering i have a script to render it by vector so the view slides smoother, but disabling is just as effective when it comes to speed.
Im trying to learn shaders for the 1.2 studio at the moment.

Well that was one of my presents, but i'm pretty happy with this. :D
