Default Seems we released a new version - 0.8.1

Apparently we released a new stable 0.8.1 version last night - containing tons of fixes since 0.8.0 was released.

Let us know if anything broke

    Great work!

Who is responible for buildning packages for different linux distributions? If you want to spread Clanlib, it must be easy to start developing Clanlib, and packages is a good start...

    Hi,

Short intro, I'm a Linux enthusiast / developer mainly active writing kernel drivers and doing development for Fedora. I see that all of my patches from the Fedora ClanLib packages have been merged, good!

However the changes to CL_Sprite's constructor (from a SpriteDescription) means that clanDIsplay-0.8.so.1 is not ABI compatible with the 0.8.0 release!

The attached patch restores abi compatibility with 0.8.0, esp. interesting for Linux distributions which build ClanLib dynamically, like Fedora and Debian (and I guess for windows .dll users too, maybe do a quick 0.8.2 with this fix?).

    Regards,

    Hans

    p.s.

I've also thrown in a patch fixing one new compile error with gcc-4.3

Thanks again Hans, I've applied the patches to the 0.8 svn.

I'm in Windows today and can only get "svn diff" made patches to apply properly so I did it manually - there may be a few small differences...

We'll release a 0.8.2 shortly with the new patches.

    Failed to build on FreeBSD.

ClanLib should try to use alsa only on Linux platforms.
There is corresponding "#ifdef" in the source, but the linker still tries to link with libasound.

The patch seems to fix this issue, but it has not been tested on Linux.

Only SVN. I think we'll see a 0.8.2 in the near future. The only major thing missing is game controller support in OSX afaik. Any volunteers?
