Thread: Box2D Support

    Default Box2D Support

Is it possible that Box2D support could be added into Novashell? I might be able to do it myself if I find out its not too hard to do, or I'll get some help on it.

Box2D is probably the best physics engine available for 2D games and support for it in Novashell, even if only on the Windows platform, would be awesome.

Box2D looks great, wish I'd known about it at the time I added the physics part! The license (zlib-ish) is very compatible.

I might play with converting it over sometime, it may not like the system I use for streaming maps in and out of memory in real-time, but it might be worth giving that up for great physics.

Sweet, it really is an awesome physics engine. I hope you can get it to work with Novashell. I still might try to see how I could plug it into Novashell myself, but I'm not too good with that kind of thing.

Well, the current novashell physics pissed me off one too many times and I've spent the last couple of days switching the engine to Box2D...

It's required a lot of non-trivial changes but the effort has totally been worth it, rock steady physics! Nice speed boost as well!

Here's a preview... hope to have it in the real download version in a few days.

Four hundred and eighty four frames a second? Sweet Christ on a bike that's fast. Faster, in fact, than the human eye is capable of registering. Good stuff!

Well, there are ways of slowing it down if you want... (see pic)

I put up some builds btw, but be sure to read the history.txt if ya try it..
