    Default Examples - Black Screen

    Hi!

    I have just downloaded newest precompiled ClanLib 2.2 + dependencies for VS++ 2009.

    I managed to compile all the samples (except Chess3D) but some just show me a black screen for instance all gui samples, DiceWars, Canvas, Text, Font ect

    Does someone know what the problem might be?

    I have got the latest driver for my display and I'm using windows 7 professional.

    It does sound like Graphic Card problems.

    Maybe your graphic card driver has a bug with the OpenGL FrameBuffer objects.

    Which graphic card do you use? Ensure that the installed graphics card driver is actually the latest one. Old ATI drivers did have these problems.

    Switching to the GL1 target should help in some cases, except the 3D examples.

    Im using intel gma 4500mhd, so its on my laptop. Actually before creating the thread I went to hp's website and downloaded & installed the latest driver.


    Switching to the GL1 target should help in some cases
    Sorry, but do you mean switching to opengl version?

    ClanLib can have a different display targets. Currently we support:
    clanGL( OpenGL 2.x and 3.x ) ,
    clanGL1 ( OpenGL 1.x ) ,
    clanSWRender ( Software renderer using SSE2 CPU instructions)

    See Examples/Display/Basic2D/Sources/program.cpp , how to change display targets.
    See Examples/Display/DisplayTarget , shows all display targets in the same application.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_GMA suggests that your graphics card should support OpenGL 2.1
    This should be okay.

    Either the latest Intel driver has a bug, or ClanLib has a bug somewhere. Unfortunately, none of the developers have Intel graphics cards.

    1) Does the DisplayTarget example works with all display targets?
    2) Does the Examples/Display_Render/Canvas example work (it is already set to the clanGL target)

    If 1 works and 2 does not, then the error is with the OpenGL framebuffer

    Ok, Now I get it.

    Yes, DisplayTarget works with all display, but the Canvas won't with clanGL but it did work in clanSWRender and clanGL1.


    If 1 works and 2 does not, then the error is with the OpenGL framebuffer
    You are correct the canvas worked with the other two targets. Can this error be fixed somehow?

    It would be a great help if you could find it.

    No active ClanLib developer has an Intel graphics card.

    If the problem could be fixed inside ClanLib, that would be amazing news.

    Try http://www.songho.ca/opengl/gl_fbo.html "fbo.zip" (<--- web site has nothing to do with clanlib. I used google to find it)

    If that works, then hopefully it can be fixed in clanlib
