    Default Issues with RT3DApp Windows & Visual C++ 2010 Express

    1. Apparently VC++ 2010 Express doesn't come with a PSDK, so I had to link the project to gl.h and such from another location. No biggie.

    2. I'm getting errors compiling the Debug GL Win 32 version of RT3DApp in AudioManagerFMod.h (17):

    I found the fmod library in the iOS folder, but nowhere in the SVN root. Ideas?

    For legal reasons I can't include FMOD, you have to install it yourself. (oops, I shouldn't be including it in the iOS dirs either.. thanks, will need to remove that from svn)

    I have instructions on how to do this (if you plop it in the right place, you don't have to mess with adding any paths to the project) here - I suspect you may have skipped the SimpleApp tutorial/doc page - hmm, I should add a note in the 3D one about it as well for those that want to just straight to the 3d.

    Good to know it works with VC++ 2010 express!

    Thanks. I did this. Well, not working yet with VC++ Express 2005 or 2010. Getting linker and compiler errors with Windows and GL libraries now

    Will read your link and keep you posted.

    I'm assuming you are using Visual Studio 2005 Professional?

    Another thing worth noting, though looking through your sln source it doesn't seem critical, I get a warning when opening the SLN:
    "Solution folders are not supported in this version of Visual Studio. Solution folder 'Solution Items' will be displayed as unavailable"
    It happens for both Visual C++ 2005 and 2010 Express.

    So, I'm getting linker errors now:

    Error 128 error LNK2019: unresolved external symbol __imp__DefWindowProcA@16 referenced in function "long __stdcall WndProc(struct HWND__ *,unsigned int,unsigned int,long)" (?WndProc@@YGJPAUHWND__@@IIJ@Z) main.obj

    What Windows PSDK are you using?

    OK, got it compiling, linking and executing on VC++ Express 2010. There are some oddities in 2010 that are partially explained here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/libr...(v=VS.80).aspx. Anyways, I had to add the GL folders (inside Windows SDK 7.0A SDK folder) to the project settings, tweak a few project macros and all compiles and links.

    I ran update_media.bat without errors, ran the app (Debug GL) and am getting the "Unable to Init" assert.

    So close!!!

    ERROR: Can't open interface/font_trajan.rtfont.
    Can't load font 1
    Hmm.. under project properties->config->debugging (well, for 2005 pro anyway) make sure working directory is set to ../bin.

    If you double click the .exe in the bin dir in file explorer (not run from VC++) and it does work, you know this is the prob.

    Hmm, maybe I'll just have the windows builds set the working dir to the .exe dir automatically.

    If that isn't the problem.. hmm, make sure that font file is there.

    Default up and running!

    Looks like the following line (110) in App.cpp needs correction:

    Changed the file name to "font_trajan_big.rtfont" and SimpleApp is running in Windows!
