Thread: Problem with RTBareBones Android build - can't find ${external.libs.absolute.dir}

  1. #1

    Default Problem with RTBareBones Android build - can't find ${external.libs.absolute.dir}

    I was having trouble getting the RTBareBones example to build for Android. It was failing saying that ${external.libs.absolute.dir} could not be found.

    I'm kind of a newb at compiling android apps without Eclipse, so I'm not sure what it is trying to reference. I don't know whether it is something carried over from a cookie-cutter android ant script or added purposefully, but after searching around for some time with no solution I decided to just remove the reference from build.xml and see what happened.

    The app compiled fine, pushed to the device and ran like a charm.

    So if anyone can explain to me what classes this classpath was trying to include, and whether removing the reference is going to bite me down the line I'd appreciate it.

    To anyone else encountering this problem and wanting a quick solution - I just removed the line
    <fileset dir="${external.libs.absolute.dir}" includes="*.jar" />
    from build.xml.

    Thanks Matt! I don't recall adding that line myself, might be some incompatibility with the latest ant or Android sdk version perhaps, will update and see.

    Hello, I have this trouble too!
    I removed the line
    Code:
    <fileset dir="${external.libs.absolute.dir}" includes="*.jar" />
    and changed "android.libraries.jars" and "android.libraries.src" to
    "project.libraries.src" and "project.libraries.src" in RTBareBones\android\build.xml
    but i get an error when the application is installed:
    Code:
    1667 KB/s (612925 bytes in 0.359s)
            pkg: /data/local/tmp/RTBareBones-debug.apk
    Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_CONTAINER_ERROR]
    I used last Android SDK and android-ndk-r4-windows-crystax-4.zip
    http://www.crystax.net/data/android-...-crystax-4.zip

    This is an excellent SDK!!! Please help me!

    Shouldn't it be "project.libraries.src" and "project.libraries.jars"?

    Did you try a clean build after changing build.xml?

    Try:
    ant clean
    ant debug install

    Of course "project.libraries.jars"! I just made a mistake when doing copy-paste...
    Yes, I cleared!

    I try to configure everything on other computer... maybe I'm lucky)
