We always post the news to freshmeat as well - it has a subscription thing to get notified.

I'm trying to build it on Ubuntu 10.10 and after ./autogen.sh I get:

configure.ac:88: required file `./ltmain.sh' not found

"Libtool comes with a tool called libtoolize that will install libtool's supporting files into a package. Running this command will install ltmain.sh"

    autogen.sh contains "libtoolize --force --copy"

So I guess something has gone wrong with libtool on your system.

I've removed DOS CRs from Makefile.am and now ./configure says:

    config.status: creating Setup/pkgconfig/clanVorbis.pc
.in'ig.status: error: cannot find input file: `

Maybe I need to remove more CRLFs but I don't know from where.

I can build 2.2.6 on the same system using commands from documentation.

It sounds like you have downloaded the ".zip" instead of the ".tgz"

The ".zip" file is for the windows platform with CRLF

The ".tgz" file is for the linux platform with unix line feeds

Also the ".tgz" file does not contain the "windows" resources, due to microsoft license restrictions

Thanks rombust I unpacked the wrong (windows) archive.
    The linux one works perfectly.
Maybe some output like 'You are trying to compile the wrong version!' in 2.2.8?
Just for people like me who should wear glasses and do not do that...
