    Wow, I manage to figure out how to modify the welcome.swf project to make the grave yard a scriptable place. Unfortunately, I don't have all the the right fonts, so the exported movie looks funny (in a bad way). I'm using Flash MX. I've documented the steps as best as I can, but please note that I don't know flash or actionscript or really how to use the Flash MX UI.

    * Get the FQ flash source code
    * install it on a machine with the Flash IDE
    * open the welcome.fla file
    * look in the timeline window for the "Map" layer
    (you may need to right click on it and select "Hide Others")
    * click once on the picture of the map
    * click on grave yard (a thin blue box should surround it)
    * Open the Properties tab
    * Change it from a "Graphic" to a "Button"
    * Open the Actions tab
    * Add the following code:

    /:b_send_extra_text = true;
    /:st_extra_text = "graveyard.c"
    _parent.contact_server(/:c_request_script);
    }
    * save the project
    * Export the file: File > Export Movie

    You can now place your new welcome.swf in the your
    FQ\public\flash directory. For testing purposes, make a copy
    of FQ\script\public\church.c and call it graveyard.c.

    When you log on to the game, you should be able to go to the
    map and click on the grave yard. Of course, the gravy yard is
    now a clone of the church, but this ought to give you somewhere to start.

    Feel free to ask questions here, but I think I've pretty much exhausted what I can tell you about Flash development.

    update

    After futzing around with text for which I had no font, I've got a working client in which both the graveyard and hospital are scriptable. I've recreated the default hospital screen in a script and threw together something uninteresting for the graveyard. I haven't figured out quite what to do with these places yet, but that's a problem for another day.

    I'll bang on the this new client before rolling it into production, but I feel a lot more confident with making flash modifications now.

    w00t!

    Thanks for the info!! thats cool!

    Is there a way to run parent server scripts and add custom local scripts?
    what I mean is I would like to ad a rob the bank script, but I would hate to have to write a script to exchange tags as well as the bank robbery script.

    It is possible to recreate the bank's functionality with a server-side script. You can then modify welcome.swf so that the bank is a scripted location. Once the bank is scripted, many new possibilities obtain.

    However, I think that it would be easier to add a new location,
    perhaps an armored car or ATM hut, that can serve as a locus of theft. You might overwhelm new users by giving them too many options in the Bank.

    Yang's, the University and the bar would be difficult to script. You could make another "visit competition" screen. One use for the graveyard would be to attack monsters, but that adds a little too much RPG spin to the game.

    After a little hacking, I'm running my new welcome.swf along side the stock one.

    If you want a copy of these files, you can get them here.

    If Seth or anyone else wants the Flash source, I'm happy to make that available too.

    Update: This FQ server is gone, but you can find the map hack here:
