Thread: Winsock error 10038: sendmsg()@SendError()

    Hi folks, I'm new to FQ and FQ-C, but I was sure enough to try writing a blackjack mod.

    Well, after finding out some of the finer quarks of FQ-C through trial and error (ie, can't call functions within functions, and it complains if you format your code like: if( var, rather than if (var), I've got a problem I can't quite figure out.

    When I run my script, the server dies and all the error log says is this:

    WARNING: 10-12 12:22 PM:Winsock error 10038: sendmsg()@SendError()
    WARNING: 10-12 12:22 PM:CloseConnection:closesocket - The descriptor is not a socket.

    I'm running WinXP Pro SP2.

    My script is 1008 lines in length, so I'd rather not post it unless it's needed to figure this out.

    I think I should also add that I have the casino mod installed.

    Update:

    I did some debugging. I got my script working... but here's the kicker.

    The first time the player clicks the Blackjack button in the Casino, the server spits out this:

    The In Blah() lines are my debugging info so I know where it's gettting issues.

    Now, aside from a few glaring typos, the script works! I just need to add a few more things to a few screens to make it smoother.

    However...

    Upon leaving the Blackjack table, which is a TownMap button since the script REALLY hated me just doing 'return;', going back in causes a crash.

    I have to then run the server, shut it down, then run it again. Now I can go into blackjack fine, but the whole thing repeats.

    Now, the button leading from Casino to blackjack is a RunScriptNoReturn function.

    Is there something better i should be using?

    Well...

    I bit the bullet and put the blackjack mod into the casino.c file. All seems to be working perfectly.

    I just need to do a few more modifications to it, mostly cosmetic, and I could probably release it.

    This doesn't require the casino mod.. you could plug it right into your church if you wanted. Father Smyth might be a gambling man, ya know?
