Ok, I've gone through and separated the random comments and the license to make things clearer.

It also occured to me that a lot of the verbage I used to protect Dink from being exploited isn't really required, as long as the copyrights are respected. *If someone can't legally distribute repackaged media or infringe upon the name, there is very little exploiting that can be done. *Not enough to worry about.

Here is the simplifed and much shorter license. *Any comments?

Hi,

This looks good, very liberal (BSD style w/o any advertising clauses).

Thanks!

GPL, use GPL or LGPL.

I think it would be better than just a self mae license.

Exclamation

My BSD style license is so open, anybody could take it and GPL it. (one group has already done this)

For joe programmer who wants to make a few changes and release his own RPG (let's pretend it was well-written and a great RPG engine) with his own security system and sell it, being GPL'ed would be a BIG stumbling block.

He'd be better off starting from scratch so he could OWN his code, keep it private and be able to sell it or give it away later.

LPGL is great, but imho really only suits things that can be cleanly modularized and won't need many project specific custom changes, such as sound system, rendering system etc.

Woa! Thanks man.

I didn't know you kicked so much ass. I mean, free code as in freedom and as in free beer.

Thanks for the drink buddy!
