Hey look, MaryJane made a creepy pasta and sent it to me:

My neighbors used to tell me of a story that there was once a girl who always dressed up as a cat. She was cute and adorable despite not being able to speak. She doesn't have a mouth either so she just smiles and waves. Every day children will come by her doorstep and play with her. My neighbors say that they always have slumber parties every night. It probably was very fun and amazing to be with her as she was friendly and cute. But that's the creepy thing. You don't know if she's friendly or not since she can't talk. She just has that aura. The aura that lures a lot of children into her domain. After every slumber party they watch a horror movie. Outside of the house, you'll think it's just cute children having fun scaring themselves in her house.
In really, the girl slowly murders everyone and covers herself in blood. Their blood curdling screams could be heard but like I said, they watch horror movies you can't really think of that. Then she goes to her little shed and skin the children. She cuts off their mouths and sews the gigantic hole together as if they never had mouths in the first place. Just like her. Remember what I said of her dressing up as a kitty? I am serious about that. She never shows her real face, hair, nails, even her eyes. Because the rest of her body is still covered in blood guts of her recent victims. The scent of it cant be smelled either since she coats herself in perfume. You know what children say to her when they see her?

I know that story since I was 4. Its fake, newbs. Here, from Wikipedia.org :
In 1962, Shintaro Tsuji, founder of Sanrio, began selling rubber sandals with flowers painted on them. [18] Tsuji noted the profits gained by adding a cute design to the sandals and hired cartoonists to design cute characters for his merchandise. [18]

The company produced a line of character merchandise around gift-giving occasions. [19] Hello Kitty was designed by Yuko Shimizu and was added to the lineup of early Sanrio characters in 1974. [9] The character's first appearance on an item was a vinyl coin purse in Japan where she was pictured sitting between a bottle of milk and a goldfish bowl. [20] She first appeared in the United States in 1976. [8]

Sanrio decided to make Hello Kitty British because at the time when she was created, foreign countries, in particular Britain, were trendy in Japan. In addition, Sanrio already had a number of characters set in the US and they wanted Hello Kitty to be different. [10][21] Shimizu got the name Kitty from Lewis Carroll's Through the Looking-Glass, where in a scene early in the book Alice plays with a cat she calls Kitty. [22] Sanrio's motto is "social communication" and Tsuji wanted the brand name to reflect that. He first considered "Hi Kitty" before settling on "Hello" for the greeting. [23] Spokespeople for Sanrio have said that Hello Kitty does not have a mouth because they want people to "project their feelings onto the character" and "be happy or sad together with Hello Kitty." [10][24] Another explanation Sanrio has given for her lack of a mouth is that she "speaks from the heart. She's Sanrio's ambassador to the world and isn't bound to any particular language". [21] Representatives for Sanrio have said they see Hello Kitty as a symbol of friendship, and they hope she will encourage friendship between people across the world. [10] There has been some suggestion [by whom?] that Hello Kitty has its origins in Maneki Neko, and that the name Hello Kitty itself is a back-translation of
Maneki Neko, which means beckoning cat in English.
