View Full Version : Music in the game

There's the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto in Windmere, the Final Fantasy 6 overworld theme, and some piece by Schubert in the first town.

However, there's this one piece of music that plays a bit outside the first town, it sounds very flowing and calm and I'm pretty sure it's by Debussy. Can anyone give me the name of this Debussy piece?

the file is 105.mid. What's the name of this Debussy piece?

I'm not sure of the name of the Debussy piece.

But I wanted to note that it's very unlikely any music from dink came from final fantasy six as it was released a few years after Dink according to GameFaqs (http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/psx/data/562865.html).

Actually Seth, Final Fantasy 6 was originally released in '94 as Final Fantasy III here in the US (I never understood why they adopted the weird naming scheme for the first few US releases..): Info here (http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/snes/data/554041.html)

What you're referring to is a re-release of the game under its correct title.

Ah, you're right Tal.

Guest, do you have a link to the midi in question? I checked all the FF overworld themes I can find and I don't see any in dink. The FF overworld theme is pretty distinct, it reoccurs through the whole series I believe.

If a non-public domain midi is used in Dink it's very important to get it removed ASAP, especially before the new release!

The 105.mid, is Debussy's Reverie. I was listening to the radio in my car, and it came on, and I'm like, "Hey! That's the Dink song!"

What about 104.midi? Does anyone know the name of that song?

It's Schubert's Serenede but Liszt transcripted it on the piano.

Any idea about 18.mid? That's my favorite song from Dink so far.

It is named tukiyo but I do not know who wrote it. Probably someone from Dink's staff.

Well...i've asked Seth about it and he wasn't sure himself...

Does anyone have any info about 16.mid?

10-07-2006, 10:04 PM
Ok, I checked a bit closer and both 16 and 18 were created by Japanese composer Nobou Kuge who gave me permission to his them.

These were added when the freeware version was created.

His webpage used to be at http://www.threeweb.ad.jp/~kuge/indexe.html but it looks like it's down now.

I know that last post was written two years ago, but I can't find an answer anywhere... Does anybody knows, what is the title of 1.mid from Dink Smallwood? I heard it many times in radio, it's famous classical music, but I don't know the title... And I would like to download it in mp3.
Himel - You can just download the whole game, it's only 16 mb, and it's free. You will find all of the midi files there.

Hate to bring up this post again, but does anyone know what 9.mid is? I've been searching for a while and I just can't figure it out.
