View Full Version : Start each DMOD with no magic or weapons?

I just finished playing the original Dink Smallwood game. It was a lot of fun. I am now trying to play the "Mystery Island" DMOD. I have a very basic question: Does Dink lose all his weapons and magic each time you start a new DMOD? He doesn't have any weapons or magic when start Mystery Island, and I can't seem to get past "seasick" incident. If he still had those "herb boots", he would be fast enough to get around the deck and clean up all the puke, but without those boots I don't see how it's possible.

And one other question: Is there some point to the "Cave of Terror"?

You are right. In each DMOD, Dink starts over. Sometimes he gets a lot of things at the beginning. Sometimes, he gets nothing. The fun part of RPGs is typically the beginning anyway. :-D

There is no point to the Cave of Terror, unless you take thing the "wrong" thought. I think this is randomly picked each time the Cave of Terror comes up. Dink can die in that Cave by thinking of the wrong thing.
