Hey everyone! I've been hosting and playing Funeral Quest over @ DX Gaming for the past few months and doing so keeps bringing back the nostalgia days when I hosted Syntax Error BBS and had a DOOR game by the name of Legend of the Red Dragon.

Some of you might remember it vividly others might be clueless, but in short LORD is a turn based game similar to Funeral Quest set in a RPG theme in a mystical world.

Unfortunately Seth sold the rights a long time ago and I've wanted to play again so over the past few months I've been working on similar game. Now thanks to the help of my new friend Eric, I now have a Legend of the Green Dragon. Very similar to the origional LORD goodness!

It's currently in beta and I'm constantly working on adding more, but your all welcome to give it a whirl. Just don't give Seth the Bard too hard of a time http://www.rtsoft.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Head over and get going! The game just started 3/26

Seth I hope you don't mind the shameless plug, but I wanted to let everyone know about this. And don't worry I'm not making a penny off of making this available to you guys.

Your goal in the game is to gain experience and advance in levels. Along the way you battle other players, run into random events and even try to win the heart of the local barmaid Violet.

Once you become strong enough you can seek out the mysterious Green Dragon and hopefully slay it thus saving the town from evil and becoming a hero. That's how the game is won first to kill the Dragon.

With how much Funeral Quest you play, I'm sure you'll get the hang of it real quick.

Aggrh!! I can't seem to log-in....in netscape or iexplorer
I was able to create a character but it won't let me log-in. I just get a blank page with this in the address bar: http://www.dxgaming.com/logd/badnav.php

badnav eh?...Oh well, guess I'll stick to funeral quest.

Might had been when I was updating it. I needed to add IP checking similar to that of Funeral Quest to prevent players from creating multiple accounts. You probably tried logging in right when I was editing that file.

When I was setting up LOGD on The Dink Network a few days ago (I was editing-it so it would use the existing username/password system) I encountered this problem, but I thought it was because of my modifications, so I decided to stop working on it. Now it looks like it could be a bug that wasn't my doing.

If you have phpMyAdmin or whatever, try changing the 'loggedin' entry of the problematic account to 0. That seemed to do the trick for me.

Just thought I'd point out, there's a SourceForge project for this:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/lotgd
and the public beta server
http://lotgd.sourceforge.net

This contains the latest updates as I develop them.

How do I host one of these? I'm new at this stuff. Also, is anyone going to attempt to make a flash version of LORD2 (or a spin-off of it anyway)?
