Hello,

When I run Novashell, the screen change of resolution, become black, then white, and finally it return me a report error dialog box from windows...

I thus have a look at the report and it seem that my SiS Integrated Video Card module make Novashell crash

Is it a solution for this?

ps: I'm french, excuse me for my bad english :o

Well, I'd guess your machine just doesn't like its default resolution, which is 1024X768 32 bit. I'll try to put a sensible fallback in, so instead of crashing, it will use a smaller res or 16 bit instead...

For now, try manually specifying the res by running it from the command line:

novashell.exe -res 800 600

or novashell.exe -windowed -res 800 600

Thanks I try it but... no one work, i see now a white window (not the full screen) with the specific resolution, then after 2 seconds, a windows crash report. :)

Here are some détails on the crash (text of the crash log file) :

I reinstalled Linux and when I try I obtain this :

sophie@ubuntu:~/novashell$ ./novashell -resolution 800 600 -window -nosound -nomusic
No hardware acceleration available. I hope you got a really fast machine..
X Error of failed request: GLXUnsupportedPrivateRequest
Major opcode of failed request: 144 (GLX)
Minor opcode of failed request: 16 (X_GLXVendorPrivate)
Serial number of failed request: 218
Current serial number in output stream: 220

Is it possible to pass glx or no? (My gpu card don't support DRI under Linux :S)

I also get a logs.txt file with such information about the joystick that I haven't ^^

[debug] Setting up joystick

[debug] Joystick Error: /dev/input/js0: No such file or directory

Where can I disactive the joystick?

I also wan't to know if it is possible to user Direct3D to launch Novashell instead of OpenGL?

Thanks a lot :)

Hmm, sorry don't know about the GLX question, but I can tell you the joystick check is something Clanlib is doing internally, Novashell doesn't check or support joystick input yet, so you can safely ignore that. Maybe I will patch Clanlib to make that a notice instead of an "error" as it's really not.

Heh. Have same problem with GLX on my Linux station actually it's not a novashell issue, but a Linux configuration issue. If you will look at your Xorg.0.log you will find the warnings from AIGLX that a lot of visualizations are not supported by your video card. Actually your video card support these extensions, but there is some strange bug with support of OGL extensions somewhere around in Linux %) Maybe last DRI, Mesa3D, DRM or X.org have this bug, i don't know really, and nobody right now don't know how to fix this bug. At many forums it was reported but nobody know how to fix it. if you will find how to fix it, please share this knowledge with me.

I will have a serious look at it after my exams and give you a report after that ;)
