Solar eclipses almost never happen in the Southern Hemisphere. I've never seen any type of eclipse in my life. I hope it's a good one!

Luckily I live in Russia, and I will observe the S.E. for 1 hour (or even 2, if the news report is correct).
Unluckily, I dont have any recording device with me (phone is at home charging).

Well, ignoring the smartasses who told me "not to look at it without any protection" I stared at the sun, and after about 5 seconds I could clearly see the eclipse. It looked like the sun was the moon (the half-circle-ish, I dont have a word for it). Overall, it looked pretty cool, and when it started there was a sudden change in temperature and light.

Well, it happened, and in school, too.
Clear sky..
It went all cold...
We all went outside, and 5 girls got UV damage to their eyes because they looked at it...
The school didn't even get a ambulance, they just were told to 'clean their eyes'.

No

You cant
trust me

I mean, ofc you can if you stare at it for like 1 min without a break, but if you glance at it for about 10 seconds, it will be enough for you to see the eclipse and not damage your eyes

I think they were probably trying to get out of school, then.

I'm the opposite of Northern Territory. I remember a tiny solar eclipse in 2013, it was in the morning but I don't know what day.
