Hi, Dinkers
These question is for Redink1 or Seth
I had a big experience here lately. My old win95 took a dump after downloading bathroom trainer, and another program.
Cause such a problem for the last week. Had to reinstall twice to get the whatever!!!http://www.rtsoft.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/alien.gif out of the computer.
Then It deleted a lot of files on me. I am not saying dear Friends that this was the problem but, it is strange that it did that, right after I ran the programs. No I have almost the Demo/unfinished, Quest back up and working on it.
I thought I lost the Dink 106. in between the the re-installs.
So with my internet Verizon Acct. (Poor for dialup)
I have a 56k and got only most of the time less then 1000 kbs
when trying to download the 106 again. I got to 15 meg of the 24 meg file and disconnected after 5 hours of mostly 730bytes speed.
Well Now I found the 106. but first install the patch 107
then dink. and Most of the Problems went away.
So Now I am slowly working back to were I was.
My question it actually Too.
Since most of the Docs and Tutorials were deleted and the new dink network went let you download them unless you have and account with them. is really obsured.
So. Who ever wrote these to docs. Please answer this question.

Q{1} Some time back when I was in my 3rd month of authoring I found that the pill bugs boncas etc. That I used
and most items all had pink squares under them. It is not the
problem with different sprites showing up. but I remember something about your video card and DirX that would fix the problem. It did fix the problem and thanks. but Now I do not have that Tut. to do it again.

I need a good dock on the the use of the debug program.
How to correct etc. My file is 6,000kb and growing.
Every Time I Delete it. windows puts it back. Now I have made some changes and wish to have a clean debug before I can submit to Redink1 or U-self the Dmod.
I will try to write a walkthru. Need a program for credits and
walkthru,s also.

If anyone else has had a simular prob. Let me Know what you have done.

Thanks Hero

The Dink Network do not require you to have an account to download. However their file host, FilePlanet, does. It is free and this should be a problem at all. So you can retreive all the docs you want.

Q1) The problem about DirectX and Dink is likely to be found in the support area at RTsoft.com.

Q2) I am not sure of what you call the debug program. Anyway, the debug.txt can be deleted at any time, and does not cause any harm. Also, it is not generated by default, and you may have let the "Debug" mode checked in your Dink frontend, explaining why it is coming back. It is also created if you switch to debug mode at play time (using the Ctrl+D).

The credits should not need any program. Just edit the one from SkeletonB to suit your needs. Though, I think Easy Dink C has a mode to create a nifty credits file.

Last, you do not need a program to make a walkthrough: just send it to me or Dukie in plain text format, and we will be glad to add it at the Dink Solutions (users.skynet.be/dinksols/).

All the best!

Beau. Thanks for the tips I appreciate It. Will try to get this corrected. Also Who do I send my dmod to have it evaluated
etc. Shoud be ready next month sometime.
How , etc.

What do you mean by 'evaluated'? As in beta-tested (checking for bugs/errors and such)?

Try posting a message on The Dink Network's Message Board (http://dynamic4.gamespy.com/~dink/board.cgi) asking for someone to beta test it, and have interested people send you an e-mail.

Once you want to release it for everyone to play, send it to me ( redink1@rpgplanet.com ) or to someone else on my submitting (http://rpgplanet.com/dink/submit.shtml) page. Then The Dink Network will take care of the news, file hosting, and everything.

Good luck.
