It depends on how much you use it. For one game, maybe not, for 5-10+, definitely.

Is it any coding at all or just all drag and drop type stuff

I'm not a coding expert, let alone old enough to buy things with a credit card, so I wouldn't know. If it's professional, maybe coding, and if not, it's most likely drag and drop.

Steam gift cards, vanilla visa/mastercard, etc. Found at your local walgreens.

I'm not sure, but I think it is only dragging, dropping and typing.

What about pixel art?

Yeah, I think that is only used for making the characters.

RPG maker has a scripting system that is not very often taken advantage of (because the people using it are a younger audience who want nothing to do with coding) people have reworked the scripting to create effective megaman (platform with rpg), fire emblem, and other crazy rpg's using the scripting. It's great when you know how to use it. Don't pay full price, it goes for sale for like $15 on steam every now and then I believe. However because the age demographic is shorter, you will not find helpful tutorials and such on scripting, you'll likely have to be a self learner.

It's mostly all drag and drop.
But there is a scripting system for you to add cool stuff.

It is fun though. I made an rpg where me and my brothers go on an adventure to defeat evil boss man. It was awesome.

This is all assuming you're talking about vx ace. But I think all other versions of rpg maker are similar.

Heh, if you don't care about GUI... (pythons alternative for such is still crap to so don't resort to that)
