So as you know in most FPS games, the very famous AK-47 has made it's way to be known as the loud-powerful-high-recoiled-full-auto gun we know now. What about the AK-74 which is a more refined version of it with different size of bullets?

AK 74: 5.45x39mm cartridge (Full metal jacket 7N6)
AK 47: 7.62x39mm cartridge

Muzzle Velocity:
AK 47: 715 m/s (2,346 ft/s)
AK 74: 900 m/s (2,953 ft/s)

So why the heck would you pick AK-47? When you fire either one of the guns, based on statistics, AK-74 would win. But only if use base it off from the velocity given. How much air resistance could it take for long range engagement when it's bullets are smaller compared to AK 47? But either way, AK 74 is still the better one because the effective firing rate and range it offers you complements the bullet size.

I suddenly took interest in guns, tanks, vehicles, mechanics, whatever. I'm also keeping a record of things in my notebook about researches I have conducted. What the heck am I even doing? I don't even understand why I'm doing this.

The ak-47 is more reliable since it works in subzero conditions without locking up. Its the perfered method of shooting holes into people

I'll stick on being a sniper.

I'd prefer bolt-action than semi-auto sniper, because semi-auto usually gives more recoil so it's a half bolt-action sniper.

But despite that, which has more accuracy, velocity, effective range and precision? AK-47 is powerful, but not statistic enough to be a world-wide pick throughout the military. Well, it is overused though.

I dont think they will change the 47 to an 74 because the 47 is so popular players would be confused and stuff.

^^^ it can freeze in a block of muddy ice and shoot fine when thawed right back out. Plus it's a pretty cheap gun

Nope its so easily and cost effectively manufactured it's used tons for terrorist organizations but I'm pretty sure banned in more civil places. Very widely used. The m4a1 and ak-47 stereotype is pretty accurate.

AK-74 is not effectively and less manufactured, 'nuff said.

But I've never heard of AK-74 locking up, so let me just look at this matter.

There's no AK-74 in CS:GO so i dunno.

- - - Updated - - -

Never mind, the AK 74 can lock up anytime if you don't kick the bolt up when you don't take care of the chamber (in any condition as long as you've already broken it), it'll lock up.

(If you are stupid enough to place different bullets in the same mag)
