View Full Version : Which is more scary: Alien life or no alien life?

We live in a universe that has billions of galaxies out there to be discovered. I remembered reading an article on scientists searching for obvious signs of alien life from our closest 100,000 neighboring galaxies. Of course this does not conclude that there is no actual proof that they don't exist in our galaxies, we don't have the technology yet to see whats inside other galaxies. The fact that we haven't been able to find another intelligent species in our own galaxy yet is truly terrifying.

What really bothers me is that we won't be able to see how things will turn out in the future. How would we know if we will ever encounter intelligent species? We still haven't yet been able to land on Mars. We won't ever know if water on other planets will ever be usable if we actually do run out. How would we be able to get to a planet and bring back the water to our planet? We can't even carry an elephant inside one of those space shuttles.

Alien life has been found, actually. A small meteorite that had crashed on Earth was found by a scientist, and to his surprise, it carried fossils of small organisms, but NASA kinda just shut him up fron saying much. Now, the meteorite very well could've been debris from a big meteor crashing into Earth and launching it with the life on it into space by the impact, but it very well could still be alien. Now, suppose it was from Earth. It, together with millions of other rocks, were sent into space with the organisms on it. Many microorganisms can live for who knows how long without Earth's resources. The probability of at least one meteor landing on a planet with the capability of having life is pretty good, so there may as well be life in another planet from our own.
Id also search for the article talking about the scientist's discovery, but my iPhone 1 makes me discourage myself from making searches like that.

Also, I think the possibility of life more intelligent than us is frightening.

You do realize that during the crash there is millions of bacteria, microorganisms, etc that can contaminate a sample of rock in a matter of seconds?

No alien life would of course be the more scariest scenario.
Just think of this little rock we call earth in the middle of this infinite expanding universe, and the only representation of life would be us, humans and animals ?

Erm i find this really scary and I'm convinced of alien life :)

We need aliens to run us. I am scared if there are no aliens to ever run our planet, we'd be already dead before we could find any aliens.

Interesting enough, this intrigues me. Other than specifying galaxies and celestial embodiments, I have never thought of actually trying to "research" for life out there.

Both are scary.

We don't still have the technology to go zoom further in deep space than we are today.
And who knows how really BIG is the universe.
Also what if they're hunting worlds to conquer and to find resources? Or if they're more intelligent than us?

Btw there's water in Mars and europa, Jupiter's moon.

If they do exist in real life, I don't think they looks like the aliens on Alien Vs Predator movie. Well, I hope so.

That's life. We will never know what would happen. If there are alien life, they could be hostile and take over the earth, or they could be peaceful like us (maybe ) and do peace stuff, blah blah.

If there is no alien life, And our economy continues what they do today. Then the earth won't last another thousand year. Unless we invent something that can FIX THE ATMOSPHERE, RENEW UNREWABLE NATURAL RESOURCES and 100% WORLD PEACE.

So both can be scary or not. We can't do anything about it. The only thing we can do is prepare. life itself will throw what ever it has at us. Like in a casino, the person will throw everything he has down and bet on it. And just hope for the best.

We aren't ._.

Of course we are not. We got up to the level we are today by war. I mean, look at WWI and WWII, not to mention thr events of the Holocaust, then look at what the US did to Japan, and think of all the other countless wars that took place and are taking place in our society. We are in no matter peaceful.

But if any aliens were to actually exist, probably they are... wait, what if we are actually the aliens?

Or probably, they have found us, and they simply go "Meh, nubs."

I personally see nothing scary about there being no other life besides for us.

What if aliens are frogs lover, maybe aliens exist maybe they are waiting for us to destroy our selfs and the they might come or maybe they are just afraid of us to start war on them, since all the alien movies contain us killing them maybe that why they can't come because they are peaceful or maybe they are not maybe they are ignoring us like we are nothing and maybe they haven't found us yet.

"Will" no. Wrong word to use to say that aliens are potentially dangerous. You do not know for a fact that aliens from space are human eaters. Heck, we could even encounter a species that does not have the organs like we do so they are not required to eat. I'm not saying that aliens are actually a good thing to us, but we could use aliens to our advantage. Here's the problem, if they ever find us first before we do, we are screwed. Another intelligent life that has better technology, is basically donezo for us.

What do you do when you see ants running around on the floor? You ignore them. What if this is how aliens look at us? :o

That would be terrifying. Knowing that aliens from space could be maybe like 20 feet tall or maybe even 100 feet tall could traumatize people.

By advanced technology do you mean they have the iPhone 7? you also may have basicly described the anime attack on Titan

If we really knew just how big "space" was, we would consider It impossible not to have alien life

If our technology right now is able to see further beneath all the billions of galaxies, we might actually reach an end to the end of the universe(if is theoretically possible) . I know this sounds crazy, but what if our universe was something like a bubble in an ocean? Just maybe outside of our universe there are more universe, like gazillions more universe surrounding us.What if outside of our universe there is also life, like humans that are a million times bigger than a universe, living like we are and they are also in their own kind universe.

This kind of got me thinking. If we are the only intelligent species in the universe and theoretically saying that the universe is not infinite, why are we the chosen ones? Is our universe actually something a person who is like a god created us just for a game? Is actually strange, how our Earth has been orbiting the sun for over 4.5 billion years and the first generation aliens hasn't been able to conclude their very own technology to look for us yet.

I think when we (Humans) start to think about how much we really know about life, i'd Honestly say we know Almost Nothing.

We do know alot about life. You are thinking about the vast of unexplored space that we have no use of.

golddash
10-02-2015, 01:40 AM
Do we really Tho? I don't think humans can really tell If we alot or Not, But it Just seems Like the more we understand, the less we realise we know (I hope that made sense).

One discovery leads to another evolution like the discover of physics. I know what you mean.

we ourselves are aliens so without aliens, there would be nothing.

We label unknown things that lurks in the outer space aliens yet we ourselves are also unknown to them, and our planet lurks in the outer space. loominati confirmed!!

Well actually, when you think about it even Deeper, we might be classified as something else to them. "Aliens" the Term and the meaning is something that only Our culture (Humans) uses. Mind-Blown?

Well actually to aliens I don't think they would have the same kind of thought process like we do. Maybe us humans are just another one of those "low classes" species that they find often. We don't know. It could also be that they have absolute no interest in changing their daily life, something like war so they decide to not interfere with us.

After we die, everyone eventually forgets about us, the world will still keep going as if we never existed at all. Until the world dies, after it dies, the universe will keep going as if we all never existed.

In other words, anything is possible, anything that can be imagined by your imagination could actually exist out there, parallel worlds, fantasy worlds, zombie worlds, unicorn worlds, etc. could exist. And not only that, things that is beyond our capability of thinking or something we couldn't even think of exists, because the universe is vast, and we are nothing but a tiny tiny tiny speck of dust in a speck of dust in a speck of dust in a speck of dust in a speck of dust in a speck of dust. That's how small and insignificant we are.
