How old are you? It sounds creepy to ask, but my reccomendations are classics and may be too advanced for the general user here.

I have some of my books still from when I was like ten though.

Try to look up books written by L. J. Smith, they're all good. Or maybe The Raft by S. A. Bodeen, which has a pretty similar plot as The Hatchet.

The Tomorrow Series by John Marsden is pretty neat. It starts from Tomorrow when the War Began. I hope it's not too obvious of a series.

Well this one might be obvious but i definitely recommend Divergent, its a scfi book with romance and adventure. I also suggest Fangirl, the Percy Jackson series and The Selection series which is a mix of the hunger games and the bachelor. Hope this helped!

If you are interested in mythical creatures, demigods and such, read the Rick Riordan's series of how Greek Gods (such as Zeus) had children. Those children need to fulfill the steps of their parent. Sounds boring, but when you get into the middle or the beginning middle, then you get interested.
