Maybe your ISP or something has blocked the website?

I think my dad did it. Any ways around it?
Does downloading it on a different PC, then transferrun onto a USB, then onto my PC work?

What is the error text under "SSL Connection Error"?
I can help if I know that text .-.

Use a VPN maybe. That bypasses most crap. (Most consumers don't know how to disabled VPN passthrough)

Or use Softether VPN which uses VPNoverHTTPS to bypass crap

Won't Minecraft need to access minecraft.net to update the game?
Although, I do have the feeling that that stuff is hosted on AWS.

I know you already got it, but you can easily bypass child mode. Just google it.

If my parents put any privacy-evading bull:poop: like that on my computer, I'd just place RATs on theirs and flip the tables.

Mineplex is a terrible server. You have to wait like 30 seconds to get into a game. Hypixel is much better, all the vip perks on there are achievable by just playing and all the stuff that isn't accessible to normal players is 100% cosmetic.

Mineplex is more of a CaptainSparklez fanclub anyway, more than a server.

If OP can play on a server, he/she can also update game. (I don't know how their parents blocked minecraft.net, probably just the domain or whatever)

I got it.
By child mode I meant all my account activity and internet history is reported. I only can log on 3 hours a day.

(Id probably get beat up if I tried doing anything to my parents)

BUt I think they use minecraft.net to retrieve the link

My parents nor my aunt can never do that to me. My aunt changed my account to a standard account and limit my computer time. I just removed the pass of the administrator (using bootable tools) then set mine as admin then removed that account. (This was back when I was in primary school as far as I remember)
My mom knows that trying to put parental controls on my pc is just pointless.

I bet your father is using the antivirus for blocking the website.
It seems like the SSL certificate is being stripped off and replaced by the one from the antivirus. Then the antivirus just blocks the SSL connection.
Meh Antivirus sucks
