Find x.

100^x=10
32^x=2
16^x=4
32^x=8

Please help me D:

1. 100^x=10
x=-10
2. 32^x=2
x=-16
3. 16^x=4
x=-4
32^x=8
x=-4

These may be wrong because you really didn't tell us anything about the questions at all. You have to at least have a key to tell us what ^ is. I used it as 'To the power of'.

These are the correct answers.

It was by fractions? If it was like that then you don't even need help, do you? It's simple as heck this way. I thought ^ means 'To the power of'

here's the way!

1. 100^x=10
10^2x=10^1
then 2x=1
so x=1/2

2. 32^x=2
2^5x=2^1
so 5x=1
x=1/5

3. 16^x=4
4^2x=4^1
2x=1
x=1/2

4. 32^x=8
2^5x=2^3
so 5x=3
x = 3/5

Keyword: we should make the basis (or what u called) same so we can make the power (superscript) same too

It does mean "to the power of"...

ask me anything about math and I'll try to clear it as hard as I can :hat::hat:

How did it get to fractions then?

How did it get to fractions then?

Because X<1 and instead of answering 0.5, for instance, I decided to write 1/2. It looks better.

100x = 10
100x = 10
(102)x = 10
2x = 1
x = 1/2

32x = 2
(25)x = 2
5x = 1
x = 1/5

16x = 4
(24)x = 22
4x = 2
x = 2/4
x = 1/2

32x = 8
(25)x = 23
5x = 3
x = 3/5

Ok thx. But can u explain it a bit?

It was by fractions? If it was like that then you don't even need help, do you? It's simple as heck this way. I thought ^ means 'To the power of'
It means raised to the power of.

Just like 2 raised to the power of 1

here's the way!

1. 100^x=10
10^2x=10^1
then 2x=1
so x=1/2

2. 32^x=2
2^5x=2^1
so 5x=1
x=1/5

3. 16^x=4
4^2x=4^1
2x=1
x=1/2

4. 32^x=8
2^5x=2^3
so 5x=3
x = 3/5

How did you get 10^2x=10^1? And thanks.

It does mean "to the power of"...
