View Full Version : Tanked - Palm Pre2 vs Samsung Galaxy S2

due to technical issue with Palm Pre2 I've changed my mobile phone this week. After a few days of playing in Tanked I have a mixed feelings.
On the one hand S2 has better capabilities like better cpu/gpu power, wider screen etc., on the other hand objects like tanks and buttons are smaller than on Pre2. Therefore it's more difficult to precisely shot someone, and it is easier to miss fire button.There are more issues on S2 like tank's name is very often unreadable, Tanked crashes very often on S2, colors are wrong on amoled - looks like night version :) (see below) and it isn't caused by brightness but rather contrast... On S2 sometimes tanks' engine sound disapear

Finally the game has better playability Palm Pre2.

+ screen width;
- buttons size - to small;
- tanks size - to small;
- tank name is very often unreadable (screen below);
- crash to often;
- wrong colors on OLED - to dark;
- box with private room name to wider;
- sound issues.

+ buttons size - easier to shot;
+ tanks size - easier to shot;
+ playability;
+ stability.
- screen width;

Left side - Samsung Galaxy S2
Right side Palm Pre2

Color Issue:

Private Room field to wider:

Fantastic post, thanks for taking the time to do it. As I don't have an S2 to test with, this really helps me understand what I could do to fix up the game. I'll try to fix the aspect ratio to be more correct and the buttons to be bigger for this device in the next version.

welcome and many thanks Seth.
In additional, please take a look at Tank's name, very often they are unreadable (see below - left side) - I'm sure that someone on that forum faced that issue too; and on the final score screen, Career points are cutted (right side);

And last but not least, stability.
Tanked crash almost every third time, always during battle. Sometimes is just closed, sometimes freeze whole system.

If you need a betatester, you can count on me. If you have version with logging, I can do some tests.
