View Full Version : Server question

I setup a server for me and my friends at:

http://192.168.1.97:80

My friends tell me it not working, but I can view it fine.
What's wrong?

That isn't your outside IP. (FQ is just grabbing the first one it sees, which in this case is your local network IP, which is wrong.. I'll fix that in a future version, since I did the work for Toolfish anyway)

Try 66.157.98.196. (the IP used to post that message)

Or just click Here (http://www.myipaddress.com/) to see it. Wow, I just guessed, but it's a real URL and it works, sweet. http://www.rtsoft.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I couldn't get it to work on my IP, it just kept going to that local IP, so with my limited knowlege tryed changing my settings to get it to work without success. Anyone have any suggestions to how this can be done?

To clarify, it's ok if the server shows your incorrect IP, it's still reachable by an outside line. (assuming a router/firewall isn't blocking outside connections)

It's just a superficial display problem. Your server should still be reachable if your friends use your "true" ip, regardless of what the FQ startup log shows.
