been trying for awhile now to get into the byg game and the server link takes you to the byg homepage. if that was done on purpose, well lets just say thats very very sad.

You know clicking on the link to FQ on the forum may yield better results

I know I did that, im just saying if he has to do that to get more hits on his website, well I dont think thats any better than people who spam, and put up false links that take you to porn sites. If we wanted to go his website we would.

http://www.rtsoft.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/alien.gif Let me understand something here I change the link so that people like you can get my site news and find out about the other games that I am offering users and all of a sudden I am compared to porn peddlers?.....That is really weak man....you know we have to pay for registering these games and On my site I dont ask for anything..only that the users participate in the forums (I like it when people frequent my forums it lets me know how I am doing. It also gives me a way to let people know what is available on my site) it is designed so that those that want to participate in the forums and others online games may do so verry easily....if you havent noticed Funeral quest is by nature designed to generate web traffic..Now if it generates that traffic for a site that is doing nothing but offering free services to its users then where is the harm in that?...I have no pop-ups on my site and I am not trying to sell anything at all....I must say that I am deeply offended by youre comments..I think that perhaps in the future you give more consideratrion to other peoples feelings

my comments werent meant to offend anyone but when you put up a " blind link " which is what that is, because all 250 + people who used that link every day thought it was going to take them directly to the game, well that is the same as the " porn peddlers " . all you got to do is put in the info by the link " click here to visit my webpage and play the game " and at least then we know where the link is going to take us. to be honest with you I stopped going to your website because you kept making it more and more complex. I have a cable modem and a p4 comp, with a 2.4 g processor 512 ram and it still loads slow!

Jimbo... why don't you just mark the game link in your "Favorites" online...? I've been doing this for months... with all the servers that I play. I still visit the forums frequently, but I am able to play without even going through the rtsoft. (Just a suggestion.)

http://www.rtsoft.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/alien.gif try loading the site Now I just removed the logon wave file which I am sure was slowing down the page load time..it should load faster now............ http://www.rtsoft.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

05-19-2003, 02:15 PM

http://www.rtsoft.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/alien.gif I think that I got it Now The Dropmenu that I was using was written in Javascript and I beleive it was slowing down the overall load time..So I removed it..and put those links on the master bar..actually looks neater now....please try it out and let me know..I really need to decrease load time for the site without sacrificing site content....thank you all in advance. http://www.rtsoft.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

It still takes about 10 seconds to load fully (including pictures) for me, but it starts displaying stuff after 3 or 4 which is a huge improvement. Before it didn't draw anything until everything had downloaded.

05-24-2003, 05:24 AM
it definately is a little better, not as good as I would like but I can live with it. I really like the bowling game!

http://www.rtsoft.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif I am verry glad that you are happy I am toying with the Idea of changing forum type but I dont know...any change would mean a total restart because the database diferences are immense.....I am considering:

1.)beyond The Grave Beta (http://wp.scieron.com:12345/crash/portal_content.asp)

2.)Invision Powerboard (http://forums.invisionpower.com/)

let me know what you all suggest..please lets make it better if we can.....

05-24-2003, 03:07 PM
with me just clicking on those 2 links the invision board comes up instantly, while the beta one takes forever.

Just a simple phpBB or the like would work, loading times are more important than fancy looking...ness http://www.rtsoft.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

http://www.rtsoft.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/alien.gif o.k. I tighntened up the programing and installed a second server....so here it is.....

Beyond Reality (http://wp.scieron.com:9999)

and our other board

Beyond The Grave (http://wp.scieron.com:12345)

we will be hosting both sites so that all users will have a choice...check these load speeds out.....

But Now I need alot of help to make the boards better..so I will be enlisting lots of help.....so come and apply...

beyond reality will be a simple board and beyond the grave will be the more fancy with the flash games and all but both will have links to the game servers....

you see I listen....???http://www.rtsoft.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

You're welcome. Of course, I sort of crashed Daisypark today while installing two new items. I'm going to swap out the current box (celeron 400 w. 96M of RAM) of a PIII 866 with 256M. The new machine should handle the load better.

The new mods are Body Armor and Brass Knuckles. These improve HP and Strength but wear out over time. It's a pretty good hack, I think. I stole the graphics from Google. http://www.rtsoft.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

There are two other hacks I hope to get to: advertising (improves Turns, but eventually wears out) and Catacombs (under the Church lies a den of unspeakable horror ... and tags).

I'm still learning about the FQ scripting engine. [ Hey Seth, I don't think return works as quite right when you are several calls deep. When I fix my server, I'll send mail ] I think I can create an underworld without modifying the flash client and using the FQ scripting stuff. However, I may come up against some weird problems as the scripts get bigger and more complex. That's the fun of programming, I guess.
