I can't stand it. It sounds like of bunch of homeless people or broke people who live in their parents' basement with nothing good to do.

Actually many poetry writers lived a hard life for example
Edgar Allan Poe and Tupac
Both of these are very we'll know poetry writers that lived hard life's

Poetry isn't too bad, the ones that don't apply to me or just don't seem to have a reason doesn't satisfy me though. It isn't like I have LOVE/HATE feeling towards it :)

The people you described are wannabe rappers.

Look at them. I doubt they made it through high school. (No offence to whom it may offend)
Well, they may not be broke, but... :/

This is an example of a poet.

And I don't think William Shakespeare lived in his mother's basement. I don't think he was homeless either. Or broke.

--EDIT--

To hate or not to hate, that is the question

Shakespeare was one of the few poets who actually made a decent living off making words rhyme...

most stuff have a meaning if you think about it, poetry is art to some people. People have different ways of expressing themselves

Well if you actually TAKE THE TIME AND READ IT AND READ IT AGAIN, you could actually know what it's supposed to mean. Don't just go "oh this doesn't make sense I might as well forget about and not try to find out what's its talking about.

Yea, I read it like, 50 times and it still makes no sense.

Poetry is stupid. My final answer.

Who's spamming now?

You. Sorry, did I miss anyone? Even this post of yours is spam, as well as others - it doesn't relate to the original topic.

Perhaps I could have added more to my original post. I'll revise it, then.

"Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I —
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference."
--Robert Frost The Road Not Taken

^^ My favorite poem. I always take the road not taken. In a good way that is...

"To be,or not to be,that is the question"~Shakespere

It's asking, in some words, to live or not to live. Now if you did read it 50 times(the entire poem), which you probably didn't, you should know.

Meh. I don't really care. I have better things to do.

If you don't care then why did you make a entire thread saying how much you hate poetry? And also don't say you've read it 50 times if you only read the first line and gave up from there.

1. Because I want to unite with my poetry hating brothers.
2. I'll say whatever I please.
