Default problems with clanlib template from kdevelop

    system: Debian GNU/Linux 4.0 "Etch"/testing
libclanlib == 0.6.5 (from official deb pkgs)
kdevelop == 3.3.5 (from official deb pkgs)

    issue:

    selected project->new project->sample clanlib application

    "run automake & friends"

    ./autogen.sh: permission denied
    chmod'd execution permissions for autogen.sh

    rerun automake... works

    configure,
    then...

    Code:
    checking for ClanLib/application.h... yes
checking for main in -lclanApp... no
configure: error: Couldn't find Clanlib libraries
    question: ***?

same problem here, with the only difference being that I compiled and installed my own 0.8.0.

I found this thread, but the trick didn't work for me

    Clanlib: 0.8.0
    Kdevelop: 3.4.0
    OS: Ubuntu Feisty 7.04

    [EDIT]

Problem solved, make install was putting the files in the wrong place: /usr/local/include and /usr/local/lib while KDevelop (well, the autogen.sh provided with the ClanLib Template) seems to look in /usr/include and /usr/lib.

So, if you run into this problem (most likely, every *buntu user will :P) you just have to .configure ClanLib with the proper --prefix. Something like:

    ./configure --prefix=/usr
Should work, if I'm not mistaken. And remember to --enable or --disable as you see fit

    I've got similar problem

    Kubuntu 7.04
    Kdevelop 3.4.0 (from official deb)

firstly I've installed clanlib from official repository (clanlib (0.6.5-1-3.3ubuntu1) feisty), then created project from Kdevelop template, and get error

configure: error: Couldn't find Clanlib libraries

then I downloaded from Clanlib offsite ClanLib 0.8.0, configured it

    ./configure --prefix=/usr

and made .deb package with checkinstall -D (of course, I removed all official packages before installing my self-made package). package was successfully installed.
Now, when compiling, I get error

configure: error: Couldn't find Clanlib headers.

so, could you give me some advice, how to solve this problem?.. thank you.

upd: well, I checked /usr/lib and /usr/include -- and there are ClanLib headers and libs in those directories. but I get the same error - configure: error: Couldn't find Clanlib headers. I'm trying to solve this problem, using configure settings in project options, but problem still exist

well, it seems to me, that libclanapp.so should be linked to libclanapp.so.2 manually, because there is no link for libclanapp.so in ldconfig. can someone explain, how to use library mobe od ldconfig? or how to link manually those libs? thank you.

I've configured my kdevelop project to work properly. just set CPPFLAGS and environment variables to tell compiler and linker where to find libs and headers

I dunno if it helps, but here are some screenshots showing how I setup my clanlib project in ubuntu/kdevelop. (I told someone in Clanlib chat I'd post these..)

I didn't use the ClanLib template, just a standard new project that uses make/configure and friends in the background.

Disclaimer: I know have no idea what I'm doing in linux, but it works!
