    Default Refresh rate

    Hi,
I'm trying to get the refresh rate (so I can calculate how often to draw/flip in order to not slow down the rest of the engine... have any better idea, let me know). I've tried setting up the CL_DisplayWindowDescription's get_refresh_rate but it returns zero (unless I set it first using set_refresh_rate... but setting it to 100 Hz (while my monitor only works at 60 Hz) leaves it unchanged, so I believe that this doesn't work. I only run in windowed mode (XP, but also MacOS and Linux in future). So the question is: how do I get the current refresh rate?

I'd suggest splitting your program into threads, and the rest of your engine won't be slowed down by the graphics.

Thanks, I gave it a try (see http://www.rtsoft.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1772). Anyway, anyone knows the answer to the original question (How to determine the refresh rate when running in windowed mode)?

    thanks
