I only have Ocean Eyes, but that is the only thing I think I will ever like of his. He seems too religiously based.

He can't be thankful to the God that gave him everything he has? At least he's not forcing anyone on his beliefs. You could say that 90% of most artists are too secularly based, but nobody would even care, so why do people care if someone has faith?

Anyways, I absolutely love Owl City. Adam Young is probably my favorite artist of all time.

Bombshell Blonde is an exception, but I just like the dubstep touch to it.

Not exactly. Even though there are songs based on religion, a lot of the others, like every single song in The Midsummer Station, do not. In Mobile Orchestra, there are 3 religious songs, but the tune is pretty secular, which makes it awesome.

The topic proposed was not even related…

I digress though. His music is simply unrelatable to me. Growing up an non-practicing Catholic in a church that strictly was bound to old values — which unfortunately preached denouncement of such "evils" — I had a parish that made every visit torturous in a parish that tantalised the outcasts of the clergy with damnation. In their eyes, one was never good enough to do the expected, which made me dread every moment. This would push anyone further away from the church — though now it seems not the bother. My point is that the lyrics are simply unrelatable (and far too abstract in description — rather odd, whimsical comparison). I relate better to secular lyrics — as do most — which explains why secularity dominates lyrical influence.

I guess that makes sense. I mean, there are a ton of random lyrics with much deeper meaning than meets the eye (I mean ear *cough*).
